The Husker football program has enjoyed some incredible moments over the years, and fans with Husker football tickets will still remember some of the dramatic wins in recent Nebraska history.
Some of those great moments can be relived this weekend, as the Big Ten Network is going to feature the University of Nebraska as it enters into the conference on Friday. The network will spend the Fourth of July weekend featuring its newest member in some of its biggest football games in recent memory.
The network will officially welcome the University of Nebraska at 11 a.m. on Friday, and at 12 p.m. the will replay Nebraska's Orange Bowl win over Tennessee in 1998, a game that was the last for legendary coach Tom Osborne and resulted in Nebraska winning the national championship (new conference foe Michigan shared the title that season, winning the AP writers' poll).
Features on Nebraska's wins over Miami in the 1995 Orange Bowl will be shown, as well as features on the 1994, 1995 and 1997 national championship teams. Also scheduled are replays of the volleyball team's 2006 national championship win over Stanford and last year's win over Missouri in the final conference football matchup between the two long-standing foes.
The conference network will also have a live chat with former Husker football standout Ahman Green, as well as interviews with coaches Bo Pelini (football), Doc Sadler (men's basketball), Darin Erstad (baseball), John Cook (volleyball) and Rhonda Revelle (softball). Osborne, now the school's athletic director, will also be featured this weekend.
It should be a fun weekend for Husker football fans, and will get fans in the mood for what should be an exciting season of college football as Nebraska officially joins the Big Ten Conference.
You can get great seats to see ever Big Ten Conference football game, as well as all the Huskers' games -- both home and away -- right now at Ticket Express -- where no Husker football game is ever sold out.
