For the first time in more than two years, the Husker football team is among the top 15 teams in the nation.
The latest Associated Press poll showed the Huskers making a six-spot leap in the polls to No. 15, their highest ranking since September of 2007. The move up comes after a thrilling come-from-behind win over Missouri that saw the Huskers explode for four fourth-quarter touchdowns in a 27-12 win.
This is the highest the Husker football team has been ranked since September of 2007, when they were No. 14 prior to a loss to USC. They are one of five Big 12 teams ranked in the latest AP polls, joining Texas (No. 3), Oklahoma State (No. 16), Kansas (No. 17) and Oklahoma (No. 20).
The Huskers also moved up five spots in the USA Today Coaches Poll, coming in this week at No. 17. They are one of six teams from the Big 12 in the latest coaches ratings, along with Texas (No. 2), Oklahoma State (No. 14), Kansas (No. 15), Oklahoma (No. 18) and Missouri (No. 24).
